New things

Well ‘ello there 2017.

I hate to start a post apologising for my lack of presence on this little old blog of mine but I feel it’s necessary to address a number of points before we progress with normal business:
  1. It’s been three darn months since I last blogged. THREE MONTHS.
  2.  I have a legitimate excuse. Seriously, hear me out.

Okay so my ‘number of points’ was really only two but I need to tell you lovely lot what happened to The Girl with the Big Hair. In the midst of all things gloriously festive I discovered that my blog basically died on me. Yep you read it right. On what I thought was going to be another normal day in December I was informed that all pictures from my blog had vanished.

Kapoof. Gone. Nowhere to be found.

Avoiding panic mode, I convinced myself there was going to be a way of getting these back. I mean surely!?

Sadly, not. They were most definitely wiped from all traces of my blog. *Sad face*.

So, as you can imagine, I’ve been working tirelessly to get every blog post back up since it all began back in 2015. Unfortunately, some of pictures have gone a walkies so for the meantime I’ve reverted those posts to draft but I hope to get them back up eventually. Bear with me.

Well now that we’ve cleared the air I can get onto more positive things such as new clothes and the first blog pictures with my darling puppy. I can’t believe she’s only just making her blog debut now – I mean we have had her for two months now!

Meet little Indie. She’s the apple of my eye, with a side of sassy attitude. She’s little Miss Independent but still treats me to cuddles now and then. I honestly didn’t think I could love an animal the way I love her. I’m officially a crazy dog lady. I want to share a blog post with my tips/advice on getting a puppy so more on this soon but in the meantime, ain’t she cute!

Now onto my outfit. I have a thing for sleeves at the minute and this is my latest addition. It’s cosy, soft and was a bargain £15 from Zara. I paired it with my favourite jeans of the minute and a pair of black booties. Finished off with my Zara bomber this outfit feels cool and comfortable – just what I like.

Excited to get back into blogging. I'm hoping to create more exciting, useful and pretty blog posts in 2017 so watch out! As always I’d love to hear what you’d like to see on the blog. I’ve got a few ideas lined up but I’m always open to suggestions J Don’t be shy!

See you in the next one.

Winter booties: this season's must-haves

I'm back with another outfit post and this one comes with a side of puppy cuteness. Yep, that itty bitty tiny face is in fact my future in-laws new chihuahua. Isn't he the CUTEST?! I'm literally in L.O.V.E.

After a lazy morning on the couch with this little fella, The Fiance and I climbed up to a mini forest to grab some pictures as the sun set for another day. It's not often I get my legs out in the winter without tights (us cold blooded gals can't handle anything below 10 degrees) so I compensated with a cosy jacket from River Island, a big fluffy scarf and my new Public Desire booties. After being on the hunt for a new pair of heeled ankle boots I ended up buying two pairs from my favourite footwear site. Of course my intention was to send one pair back but you know what us gals are like and after falling in love with both pairs I happily flung that idea out of the window.

These are the Cayden Sock Boots and my slightly fancier pair that I plan to wear when going to bars or events. I also picked up the Chloe Persepex Boots which have a slightly shorter heel and are more suited for work and days out. I love the Yeezy feel of the sock boots and think they're SO flattering on. I got them when there was 20% off so they cost a bargain £32! I'd recommend hanging off for a voucher code with Public Desire if you're thinking of buying anything as they're always sharing them.

Jacket - River Island
Skirt - H&M (similar)
Scarf - Zara
Hat - stolen from my bestie

Don't puppies just make pictures ALL the better? I actually have some exciting news for you in my next post that all my fellow puppy lovers are going to love. Stayed tuned!

Tenerife Style Diary

Waow. It has been a while, hasn't it? Or perhaps you've been soaking up every last bit of summer just like me and time has somehow disappeared in the blink of an eye. Either way, I'm back after a solid six weeks off from the blog. I've got A BUNCH of pictures, stories, and favourites that I can't wait to share with you so lets kick it off with my holiday outfits round-up.

It's been a short three (and a bit) weeks since I returned from our holiday in Tenerife and the tan in my skin has almost faded completely. In our nine days away, we made the most of days by the pool, eating until our hearts were content and some solid R&R time. A few of my favourite memories include sunset watching while sipping on prosecco, visits to the oh-so-popular Siam water park and Loro Parque, and my first volcano visit to Mount Teide - more on that later.

On today's post I thought I would share my holiday style diary. I had a tight holiday wardrobe budget so tried my best to buy sensibly and only purchase items that I could also wear day-to-day in sunny Scotland. So, white summer dresses and tropical print two pieces were a no-no. Instead I opted for silky camis, denim skirts, metallic bodies and pink shimmery culottes (which FYI I'm so excited to style up for A/W).

A Primark silk cami paired with this beaut denim skirt from River Island - thanks sis.

My trusty lace black top from Zara (sold out) with a bodycon skirt and Moschino belt.

A ribbed long sleeved bodycon dress with high neck (similar here) paired with my strappy Topshop heels.

A oldie but a goldie racer back crop from the Nicole Sherzinger x Missguided range (circa 2014) with the ripped denim skirt

A gorgeous metallic silver body from Zara paired with a black bodycon skirt also from Zara (similar here) complete with my my new Missguided heels - which FYI have gone missing... come back!

I've loved looking back on all of my holiday pictures and can't wait to share a few more next time.

Monochrome

A few weeks ago, The Boy and I headed up North to visit our favourite double-daters for a weekend of countryside fun. After arriving late on Friday evening, we enjoyed a chilled night to ensure we were fully rested for a day of food, drink and dancing on the Saturday. With my cousin and her boyfriend moving down to Glasgow in a few months (FINALLY!), we took the opportunity to go for high tea at Muckrach Country House Hotel – something my cousin has always wanted to try.

With the sun splitting in the sky, we got dolled up for a sophisticated afternoon of teeny tiny sandwiches and fizzy liquid (AKA prosecco). I won’t go into too much depth about the hotel as I’m working on a ‘what to do’ style post for a weekend in Aviemore, so more on that soon. But what I will say is that we had a brilliant afternoon catching some rays and well, catching up.

Before we left we had an impromptu shoot to share our outfits with you all, here on the blog. Normally outfit shooting for me is a lonely affair so it was nice to have someone by my side for a change. We honestly didn’t plan the monochrome look, it just kind of happened. Great minds eh…..

I am wearing:
Top and blazer - H&M
Skirt - Primark
Boots - Primark
Bag - Love Moschino
Sunglasses - a prezzie all the way from New Zealand

Naomi is wearing:
Top and boots - Primark
Shorts - Topshop Boutique
Bag - River Island
Sunglasses - Miu Miu

I hope you liked seeing two people’s outfits as opposed to one. I personally love all of the double blogs that are kicking about the blogosphere atm.

Seeking Sunrise

Setting my alarm for 3:45am you’d be right to presume I was either 1. jetting off to a tropical island, 2. on a VERY early shift at work or 3. just darn crazy. And well my friends, I have to say I believe most will think 3 is best suited to this story. The reason I was actually rising before the birds were chirping was in search of a sunrise.

Let’s just say I have this thing for sunrises. In fact, I have a thing for that big yellow ball in general. I’m basically obsessed with everything the sun brings into my life. Warmth on my skin, BBQs in the garden, day trips to the beach, happy faces EVERYWHERE and of course picturesque sunsets. But one aspect of the sun that I rarely get to enjoy is the sunrise. Not because I love lazy mornings in my bed (quite the contrary actually) but because most people around me love a lie in. So after much persuasion I managed to convince my bed-loving boyfriend to join me in an early morning adventure to catch the sunrise.

After throwing on our clothes, and a quick brush of the teeth, we were on the road to Loch Lomond. We thought we might’ve missed the beginning of the sunrise but after choosing a spot on the loch that was surrounded by hills, we had plenty of time to spare. Before we knew it the sun was peering above the hills, instantly warming up the pretty baltic morning (I swear, it was about 2 degrees!). We then walked along the pier and really soaked up our surroundings before returning home for a warm breakfast in bed.

I love how the images turned out and think they really capture the magic of a peaceful morning. This isn’t my typical style of blog post but I really loved trying to capture beautiful pictures as opposed to just an outfit or event.

I really love the pictures and hope you do too so let me know if you would like to see more of this style of post.

It looks like the sun is beginning to peek through the clouds for another scorcher of a day in Glasgow. I seriously can't get over how lucky we've been with the weather over the last two weeks. It just makes ALL the difference. Long may it continue!

Happy sunny Saturday folks!
